Must-see attractions around Läckö Strand

Here you can choose to just enjoy the peace and quiet, go for a walk, or sit in the garden and drink in the lake views and lovely natural surroundings But if you start getting ants in your pants and fancy a bit of activity there’s lots to do both here and in the local area.
We usually put the volleyball net up as soon as we get some warmer weather. Several members of our family enjoy a match, so the net goes up early in the season. You can borrow balls in reception (and even a couple of extra players occasionally).
We also have a kubb set you can borrow. By the lake there are a couple of canoes and SUP – stand up paddleboards - that we hire out. In the shed between the Spiken and Naven cabins you’ll find barbecues for guests’ use. Provide your own charcoal and lighter fluid and don’t forget to clean the barbecue after use. We have two large barbecues. There’s also a firepit down by the lake if you want to arrange a bonfire one evening.

Kållandsö

If you want to expand your views a little you can hire bikes from us and explore the lanes around the island. We’ll be happy to show you where the best cycle routes are on a map. Take the opportunity to have a trip to Läckö Castle where you’ll also find Naven Outdoor Experience. Kayaks and canoes can be hired there it’s a good place to stop, hire a kayak and head out into the beautiful Eken archipelago.
If you want to carry on cycling instead take a short cut over the fields down to Spiken. Spiken is a fishing village where you can stroll around the fishing huts. Don't miss the chance to taste the smoked whitefish, which is the local specialty. Many fishing huts also sell fresh fish, whitefish roe (löjrom), dips, crayfish and other delicacies.
If you’re happy with your tour you can cycle back to us here at Läckö Strand and enjoy your evening meal on our veranda.

If you want to cycle further you can carry on to Naven Lighthouse and Skaven, but we’ll tell you more about that when you’re here. =)

On the island of Kållandsö you’ll find Läckö Golf, a golf course situated about 8 km from the campsite.

If you head in the other direction on Kållandsö towards Odensvik and Sunnerby you can visit the archaeological dig at Kungshögen, where a Viking grave ship is being excavated. See video from Kungsgraven here

Kålland, Lidköping and surroundings..

Further on, head back over the bridge to the mainland. Right by the bridge you’ll find Brostugans Café & Glass. If you turn left after the bridge you’ll get to Djurgårn and Café Djurgårdsudde.
On Kålland you’ll also find Stola Herrgård, a medieval manor. The existing main building was built in the 1700s and has a very fine rococo interior. There are guided tours of the manor several days a week during the summer. You’ll also find several farm shops on Kålland where you can buy eggs, rapeseed oil, carrots, honey and other goodies.

There’s a lot more worth visiting in our local area. Not far from Lidköping you’ll find Närebo Gårdsbutik, a farm shop selling lots of local produce from the county.
Don’t miss a visit to Hindens Rev which is one of my personal favourites. Here you can walk along a 5 km long promontory sticking right out into Lake Vänern. It’s an amazing experience having the water on both sides. Don’t forget your flask of coffee so you can enjoy a cuppa when you get to the tip of the promontory. Hindens Rev is worth a visit any time of the year.

The Rörstrand porcelain factory and museum is in Lidköping. You can visit the museum and learn about the history of porcelain throughout the years, as well as buy second hand porcelain. You’ll also find the Vänermuseét in town. To find more information about what’s on and tourist destinations around Läckö Kinnekulle go to Destination Läckö-Kinnekulle.
The region of Skaraborg also boasts the Kinnekulle plateau mountain, Skara Sommarland water park, the Arn the Knight Templar village, the Göta Canal and much more.
