Activities

At our place you can choose to just enjoy the tranquility, take a walk or sit in the garden and enjoy the lake and countryside. But if you starting to get restless and want to find something to do there is plenty, to chose from both with us and around us.
We usually put up the volleyball net as soon as it gets fairly warm outside. This tends to happen fairly early in the summer and we are a few in the family who enjoys playing a match on the pitch. You can borrow a ball at the front desk (even a few extra players sometimes).
We also have a bowler game to lend. At the lake there is a small rowboat, one boat and canoes that you can rent. We have barbecues that you can borrow. Bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid and do not forget to clean the grill after you. We have two large grills and two smaller ones. There is also a fireplace by the lake if you want to organize a bonfire in the evening.

Kållandsö

If you want to broaden your horizons a bit you can rent a bike from us and go around the small roads on the island. We are happy to show you on the map where the best cycling routes are available. You can take the opportunity to take a trip to Lacko Castle where you'll find Kayak & Leisure is our kayak and bike rental. Here you can make one stop and rent a kayak to get out in the beautiful natural archipelago

If you instead want to ride on, cycle past “Läckö Stugan” down to “Spiken”. “Spiken” is a fishing harbour where you can stroll among the fishermen's shacks. Do not forget to taste the smoked “Sik” which is  “Spikens” specialty. Many fishing shops sell fresh fish, whitefish roe, stews, crayfish and more.
When you are satisfied with the tour, you cycle back to us here at “Läckö Strand” and enjoy dinner on our porch. If you wish to continueyou can go away to “Naven” and “Skaven”, but we will tell you more about the tour when you come to us. =)

On Kållandsö there is more to explore. If you want to go out of oak archipelago without the paddle, there are ferries that take you out on a tour. So it is possible to go out in all weathers. “Navaren” driving tours from “Spiken” but they must be booked in advance. “Magnus Gabriel” running tours from the castle and during the summer, 2-3 times a day.

Furthermore, if you go back across the bridge to the mainland, you will find “Brostugan”, ice cream and café by the bridge connectin the island with the mainland . Turn left after crossing the bridge and you will travel towards Djurgårn and café “Djurgårn´s udde”.
On Kålland you can also see the “Stola herrgård”. The manor has been around since the Middle Ages. The current main building was built during the 1700s and has very fine rococo interior. The manor are shown certain days during the summer. On Kålland you can also find some farm shops where you can buy, among other things eggs, canola oil, carrots, honey, etc.

There are many places that is worth visiting in our neighborhood. When you come in to Lidköping you will find “Närebo gårdsbutik”. It is a store where you can find much of the county's locally produced food.

Be sure to visit “Hindens rev”. It is one of my personal favorites. Here you walk on a 5-kilometer frontier that stretches out into lake Vänern. It is an amazing experience to have water on both sides. Do not forget the coffee thermos so you can enjoy a cup when you get far out on the reef. “Hindens rev” are worth visiting in all seasons.
